Year Round - Weekly Online/In-person/hybrid Class: Innovators Tech Immersion with Robotics - 4-12 grades

This year-long program is designed to provide students from grades 4 to 12 with a comprehensive understanding of technology and its applications. In today’s AI-driven world, the ability to grasp and apply technological concepts is crucial for future career success. The students will get a complete exposure to the full-stack of technology components right from Electronic components and their use in complex circuits when working with Arduino boards building Robotics applications like Autonomous CAR. The program also enables them to understand how to build IOT web applications using C++ & python stack of software.  We encourage and support our students’ endeavors to participate in top Robotics competitions like WRO.

Program Highlights:

  • Electronic Components and Complex Circuits: Gain hands-on experience with electronic components and learn how to create complex circuits using Arduino boards.
  • Robotics Applications: Build and program robotics applications such as Autonomous Cars.
  • IoT Web Applications: Learn to develop Internet of Things (IoT) web applications using a C++ and Python software stack.

      • Overview of Robotics: Introduction to the fundamentals of robotics, including its history, applications, and future trends..
      • Basic Concepts: Understanding key concepts such as sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and programming languages used in robotics.
  • Mechanical Design:
      • Building Robots: Hands-on experience in designing and constructing robot chassis and mechanisms.
      • Engineering Principles: Application of mechanical engineering principles, including torque, gear ratios, and structural integrity.
  • Electrical Engineering:
      • Circuit Design: Basics of electrical circuits, including components like resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
      • Microcontrollers: Introduction to microcontrollers (such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi) and their role in controlling robotic systems.
      • Sensors and Actuators: Understanding and integrating various sensors (e.g., ultrasonic, infrared) and actuators (e.g., motors, servos) into robotic projects.
  • Programming and Control:
      • Programming Basics: Learning programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as Python, C++, or Blockly.
      • Robot Control: Writing code to control robot movements and behaviors, including navigation, obstacle avoidance, and task execution.
      • Advanced Algorithms: Introduction to advanced robotics algorithms, including pathfinding, machine learning, and computer vision.
  • Project-Based Learning:
      • Hands-On Projects: Students will work on various robotics projects throughout the bootcamp, applying the concepts learned in class to build functional robots.
      • Team Collaboration: Opportunities to work in teams, fostering collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
      • Competitions: Participation in friendly competitions and challenges to test the robots’ capabilities and performance.
  • Capstone Project:
      • Project Development: In the final week, students will design and build a comprehensive robotics project that integrates all aspects of what they’ve learned.
      • Presentation: Students will present their Capstone projects to peers, instructors, and parents, demonstrating their robots’ functionalities and discussing their design process.
  • Interactive Learning:
      • Daily Sessions: Intensive daily sessions that combine theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on activities.
      • Expert Instructors: Guidance from experienced robotics instructors who provide personalized mentorship and support.
      • Resources: Access to a wealth of resources, including toolkits, software, and reference materials to support learning and project development.

Prerequisites:

  • No prior experience in robotics or programming is required.
  • An enthusiasm for learning and exploring new technologies.
  • Outcome: By the end of the Robotics Bootcamp, students will:

Course content

The program focuses on providing a comprehensive understanding of technology and its practical applications for students in grades 4 to 12.

Students gain hands-on experience with electronic components and learn to create complex circuits using Arduino boards. They also build and program robotics applications such as Autonomous Cars.

Students learn to develop Internet of Things (IoT) web applications using a software stack that includes C++ and Python.

The program encourages and supports students to participate in prestigious robotics competitions such as the World Robot Olympiad (WRO).

 The program offers flexibility with options for weekly classes that can be attended online, in-person, or in a hybrid format to suit different learning preferences.

We will prepare students with no programming background to understand and develop full stack applications using python. The students will develop a Capstone project at the end of the program.

This program is geared to prepare students for strong Java programming background and do well in APCS A. The students will develop a Capstone project at the end of the program.
